Good hearing and vision are important to a child’s success in school. Each year, Rochester Lions volunteers help local school nurses by providing hearing and vision screenings for students.

We provide both hearing and vision screenings in Rochester and vision screenings in Centralia. Our vision machine (Plus Optics) allows us to screen a child in just seconds, without requiring a verbal response. This makes screenings easier for many children who may otherwise be difficult to test.

By volunteering our time and equipment, we’re able to help school nurses reach more students and make sure local children get the screenings they need.

The state requires that all students in grades K-3, 5th, and 7th be tested for vision and hearing.

Education comes in many forms, and every student has their own path. At the Rochester Lions, we’re proud to support our local graduating seniors as they take that next step toward their future. Our scholarships are available for students attending community college, a four-year university, or a trade or technical program. Whatever path they choose, we want to help Rochester students reach their goals and build a future they’re proud of.
