Rochester Lions Club was founded by a group of community men in 1961 with the intent to serve others and help with various projects. The main focus of the Lions Club has been to primarily help with vision and hearing needs in our community. Our local club was unique as the men also brought their wives and everyone worked together in the club which was unusual for a Lions Club at that time. Now all Lions Clubs everywhere have both men and women join and everyone can serve in any capacity including elected positions.

The Rochester Lions Club has tested the vision and hearing not only of our school but of neighboring communities as well. We purchased two PlusOptics Vision  machines to help with this endeavor.The machines are able to give an accurate diagnosis of vision acuity in seconds without students verbally responding so therefore we are able to test a variety of students that may have special needs as well as all the regular education students.

We have a variety of fundraisers such as selling Fireworks, flower baskets, Swede Day Raffle and a raffle for wood. The funds raised have allowed us to give scholarships to our Seniors, help sponsor our Robotic team, various youth sports teams and provide the Swede Day insurance. We have also given funds for Operation Santa, school supplies, glasses and examinations for our local students.
